Our Road Bikes
Featuring carbon frames the bike balances weight, stiffness and road smoothing comfort to meet dual demands of hard fast races and long gruelling rides. All bikes are 12 speed and equipped with compact gearing to make riding in the mountains more comfortable.
All Hire bikes are fitted with:
- 2 drink cages
- Gas canister
- Multitool
- Saddle bag containing a spare tube and tire levers
- Shimano SPD-SL pedals, however, you are most welcome to bring your own
Other things to know:
- Cycling shoes must be provided by the cyclist
- Helmets must be supplied by cyclist
- Toe cages or flat pedals available
- There are Shimano compatible cleats for sale at the Hive
- Extra tubes can purchased at the Hive
- Brakes are orientated in the UK style by default. Right brake is front brake, Left break is back break. Please take care if your own bike is different to this!
Pearson Hammer & Tongs
Inspired by the tools of the trade of our founder, Tom Pearson, the new Hammerandtongs is made from durable, lightweight, high-modulus carbon. Updates to the 2021 edition mean the new ‘Hammer’ (Mk. 6) has plenty in common with Minegoestoeleven, our flagship carbon road machine. So, while it features Pearson’s higher front end for comfort, we’ve improved frame gains, thanks to aero redesigns of the down tube, seat tube/seat post, head tube and forks.
We’ve also updated the seat stays, so they now run from the seat tube to the drop outs, providing uninterrupted flex for both shock absorption and a cleaner, aero profile. The all new Hammer has a two-piece, integrated bar, as well as fully integrated cables. Gearing is available in a range of options, from the excellent Shimano 105, to high-performance Ultegra mechanical.
Hammerandtongs has clearance for 700×32 tyres with an excellent option in DCR wheels, handbuilt on sealed bearing alloy hubs with 30mm depth tubeless ready alloy rims.
Shimano Ultegra hydraulic brakes guarantee efficient, reliable stopping.
